Real Madrid Worth More Than Any Other Sports Organization – Forbes
In the latest Forbes ranking, Real Madrid have been
named as the World’s most valuable sports team.
Real
Madrid is said to be valued at $3.44 billion, while their Spanish rivals
Barcelona is worth $3.2 billion and in third place is Manchester United worth
$2.81 billion.
This recent revelation is due to the fact that football (soccer) has a wider audience and is highly viewed than its American counterpart.
This can be shown at the amount of fans the club sides have acquired on Social Media. Barcelona (69 million), Real (67 million) and United (53 million) have the three biggest Facebook followings among sports teams.
The only time another sport other than soccer was displaced in the top eight was when basketball team, Los Angeles Lakers got 21 million fans.
The other non soccer/NBA team getting close to the mark is the New York Yankees, who have 8 million fans.
This is the reason the Forbes valuation always seems to put Soccer organizations in a higher esteem than it American cousin.
